Cutting to the Chase

Have you ever found a guide to an achievement, only to discover that it was written for the opposing faction?

This guide will show you the most convenient route to take while getting the Well Read achievement, for both the Horde and the Alliance.

There are a few things you can do to make your trip a little bit easier before you begin.

• Set your Hearthstone to Dalaran
• Acquire the Skeleton Key for yourself or bring a friend who has it
• Get yourself a beverage and something to snack on; the trip is mostly travel time
• Make sure everyone in your party is at least level 45 in order to actually enter Scholomance
• Have at least neutral reputation with the goblins of Booty Bay (and Ratchet, for the Horde)
  

Scholomance

Horde members coming from the Eastern Plaguelands can use an Elixir of Water Walking to get across the lake with relative ease. Alliance members will be coming from the west and can simply cross the bridge.

You normally need the key to enter, but a lockpicking rogue can do the trick (280 Lockpicking required). If neither option is available, you can slip through the door as a ghost - just jump down from the tower above until you die near enough to the door to revive on the other side of it.

The room you enter will be the Viewing Room antechamber. If you continue straight ahead, you will enter the Reliquary. Exiting westward from the Reliquary will lead you through the Chamber of Summoning to a main hallway of Scholomance. Continuing straight through this hallway will lead to the Ossuary, where in the basement you will find Rattlegore. Rattlegore will always drop the Viewing Room Key, which will allow you to enter the Viewing Room off of the Viewing Room antechamber.
